She was born in Oakwood, OH on January 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Goldie (Blaine) Thrasher. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Twin Rivers Gardens Club MNO card club, a church volunteer, food pantry volunteer and active in visiting the sick. Carroll, 84, of Defiance, OH, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013, at St. Vincent Heart and Vascular Center in Toledo. She was born in Oakwood, OH on January 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William and Goldie (Blaine) Thrasher. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Twin Rivers Gardens Club MNO card club, a church volunteer, food pantry volunteer and active in visiting the sick. She enjoyed gardening and took pride in her flower beds and roses. Mary married Earl W. Carroll on August 2, 1947, and Earl died July 7, 1995. She will be missed by her daughters, Catherine Morris of Crown Pointe, Indiana, Barbara (Tom) Kajfasz of Defiance, Laura (Russell) Wagner of Severn, MD; son, Thomas (Cheryll) Carroll of Pembervile, OH; sister, Fay Manon of Defiance; she is also survived by ten grandchildren, Hope Carroll, Chris Carroll, Jason Carroll, Jessica Kasfasz, Andrew Kajfasz, Allison Morris, Albert Morris, Caitie Wagner, Elisabeth Vick, and Sammy Carroll; six great- grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by a son, E. Charles "Charlie" Carroll; her husband, Earl; brothers, Don "Pat", Ray, Russell, and Dennis Thrasher; sisters, Evelyn Haster, Gladys Burkhart, Bess Parish, and Opal Pessefall. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, Defiance, at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 16, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 2-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, 1753 S. Clinton St., Defiance, with a. 7 p.m. Vigil Service Thursday. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Suggested memorials are to St. Mary's Catholic Church or the American Heart Association.
