Born Oct.13,1909, in New Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Truman Eugene and Sarah Ann Flickinger Lambert. She was the wife of the Rev. John Ross Hays, who died in 1994. "Kay" Hays, 92, of Carroll Lutheran Village, Westminster, died Thursday,Oct. 18, at the Carroll Lutheran Health Care Center. Born Oct.13,1909, in New Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Truman Eugene and Sarah Ann Flickinger Lambert. She was the wife of the Rev. John Ross Hays, who died in 1994. She was a 1926 graduate of New Windsor High School and also a graduate of Towson State Teachers College. She taught for several years in the New Windsor area prior to her marriage. She did post graduate work at Mansfield State College, Mansfield, Pa. She was very active in the Presbyterian church, especially in the music of the various churches, while supporting her husband in his ministry duties at churches that included Mansfield and Emlinton, Pa., and concluded at Rehoboth Beach, Del., where they served for 30 years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and music. Surviving are sister Dorothy L. "Dottie" Jones of East Lansing, Mich., and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister Helen Hibberd, who died in 1979; and brothers John E.Lambert, who died in 1982, and Paul Lambert, who died in 1997. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Krug Chapel Auditorium at Carroll Lutheran Village, with the Rev. Jimmie Schwartz, chaplain, officiating. Interment will be in Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Lutheran Village, 310 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21158. Arrangements are by Hartzler Funeral Home, New Windsor.
