Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the home of Mrs. Dosland, and at 2 p.m. in the Buena Vista church. The Rev. N. C. MARY BUCKMAN, 90, DAUGHTER OF A CALAMUS PIONEER FAMILY, DIES CALAMUS – Mrs. Mary Buckman, 90, daughter of a pioneer Calamus couple, died Tuesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Dosland. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the home of Mrs. Dosland, and at 2 p.m. in the Buena Vista church. The Rev. N. C. Ellerman will officiate and burial will be in the Buena Vista cemetery. Mary Kuebler was born June 16, 1850, in Chatfield, Ohio, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Kuebler. The family moved in 1852 to Calamus where the parents became active civic and religious workers. They helped found the Methodist church here and also donated 20 acres of land for the Chicago and North Western railroad right-of-way through Calamus. Mary Kuebler was married to Chris Buckman in 1880. Surviving are Mrs. Dosland; one son, Adolph of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1926; two daughters, one son, her parents, and five brothers and sisters. (The Gazette, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Wednesday, February 12, 1941)
