Mary was a native of Randolph County and retired from Burlington Industries in Cedar Falls after 41 years of service. She was a graduate of Ramseur High School, attended McClung's Business College and was a volunteer for Hospice and Meals on Wheels. Memorial Services, 2 PM, Sunday, September 29, 2013, at First Christian Church, Ramseur. Officiating, Rev. Garry Arnett. Mary was a native of Randolph County and retired from Burlington Industries in Cedar Falls after 41 years of service. She was a graduate of Ramseur High School, attended McClung's Business College and was a volunteer for Hospice and Meals on Wheels. Mary was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Ramseur, where she served as treasurer for 30 years. She was a talented artist and for many years gave private art lessons. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harlan C. "Buck" Brooks, parents, Rufus B. and Macie Cox Craven, and by three sisters, Zelma Maness, Shirley Trogdon, and Dixie White Survivors: sister, Ruth McAlister, of Ramseur, brother, Robert Craven, of Denton, twelve nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Condolences may be made online at www.loflinfuneralservice.com.
