She was born on September 4, 1920 in Wever to Harry Louis and Helen Hattie Conradt Lange. On August 17, 1944 Mary married Harold F. Brookhiser in Wever and he passed away on November 5, 2008. Read More	Mary Brookhiser DIED: August 7, 2013 Mrs. Mary Louis Brookhiser, 92, of Wever, IA, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 11:55 PM at the Great River Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was born on September 4, 1920 in Wever to Harry Louis and Helen Hattie Conradt Lange. On August 17, 1944 Mary married Harold F. Brookhiser in Wever and he passed away on November 5, 2008. Mary was a 1939 graduate of the Ft. Madison High School and she worked in the cafeteria there in 1966 and 1967. She worked at M & Em's Grocery in Wever and also worked part time at Audubon Brookhiser Transport, Inc. during the busy time. Mary was a member of the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Sawyer Circle. She was also a fifty year member of the Rebekah Good Hope Lodge #267 of Wever. Mary enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, loved red cardinals and was a great cook. Survivors include a son, Bill (Connie) Brookhiser of Wever; a daughter, Cindy (Andy) Kildow of Wever; four grandchildren, Bill (Tawnya) Brookhiser of West Burlington, Rusty (Kristen) Brookhiser of Wever, Kelly (Jon) Hazelett of Riverside and Michael (Carrie) Landis of Tucson, AZ; sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Ronnie, a son-in-law, David Landis; a great grandson, Matthew and two sisters. Friends may call after 3 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM, following the visitation her body will be cremated. The Funeral Service will be heldat 10:30 AM on Monday, August 12, 2013 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastors Simeon Counterman and Chad Savage officiating. Burial will be in Claypoole Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Great River Hospice House and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com
