Description	:	ANSELMO — Mary Lou A. Franssen, 66, of rural Anselmo died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anselm's Catholic Church. The Rev. Todd Philipsen will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with a 7 p.m. wake at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners. Mrs. Franssen was born May 26, 1935, at Columbus to Edward and Barbara (Boro) Kudron. She grew up in the Columbus area and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in Columbus in 1953. She married Bernard "Benny" Franssen on Feb. 28, 1956, in Yankton, S.D. They lived in Brady and Gothenburg. She worked at Slack's Nursing Home in Gothenburg for 22 years. After her husband's retirement in May 1995, they moved to a ranch south of Anselmo which they acquired from his uncle. Her husband died July 22, 1998. She continued to live on the ranch. She was a member of St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Anselmo. She enjoyed animals, gardening and collecting angels. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Yvonne and Less Schlake of Norfolk and Dawn and Ron MaGee of Bertrand; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tim Franssen of North Platte, Larry and Penny Franssen of Wood River and Paul and Sandra Franssen of Lexington; 12 grandchildren; her father of Columbus; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen Kudron of Lincoln, Dave and Bev Kudron of Bellwood and Ron and Ann Kudron, and Dennis and Sandy Kudron, all of Columbus; and a sister, Dee Uphoff of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband and a brother, Michael.
