She was born on April 7, 1914, the daughter of Forrest W. and Nellie E. (Rodenburg) Allen in Cambridge City IN. She married C. Ellis Grant on June 23, 1939 and lived with him until his death in 1982 in Connersville. Read More	Richmond, Indiana - Mary Louise (Allen) Grant, age 99, of Madison WI (Richmond and Connersville IN) died on July 27, 2013 at Sebring Assisted Care Residence in Madison WI. She was born on April 7, 1914, the daughter of Forrest W. and Nellie E. (Rodenburg) Allen in Cambridge City IN. She married C. Ellis Grant on June 23, 1939 and lived with him until his death in 1982 in Connersville. She moved to Richmond IN with Vernie Slonaker, her companion of 22 years, to reside at Arbor Trace Assisted Living in 2007. She moved to Madison WI to be near her daughter, Jayne Grant, in 2012. Mary Louise graduated from Lincoln High School in 1931 and Secretarial School in 1932. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star Chapter 346, Historic Connersville, Kappa Kappa Sigma, Ladies of the Elks, Fifth Third Travel Club and Connersville Country Club. She was a devoted daughter, mother, wife and sister. She enjoyed volunteering for community events and traveling throughout the US and to several countries in Europe and Israel and Egypt. She was a homemaker, an avid knitter and quilter, enjoyed sewing and was known for her delicious black raspberry pies. She is survived by her daughter Jayne Grant (Myrna Casebolt) of Madison WI and her brother Nolan E. Allen of Marshall MI, four nieces Bonnie (Bill) Chapple, Janet Russet and nephews Nolan W. Allen and James Christian and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and long time companion. A private celebration of Mary Louise's life was held in Madison. Private burial is at East Germantown Zion's Lutheran Cemetery. Please share your memories at www.waskoms.com .
