She was 95 years of age and died following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 18th at the Peebles Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Mike Pilcher, Pastor of the Braden United Methodist Church and Rev. Barbara Blackmon Fortune, Pastor of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Hebron Cemetery in the Bethlehem Community of Fayette County. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pattat was born November 29, 1906, in Haywood County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James Richard and Birdie Akin Leath. She attended schools in the Bethlehem Community and was marked December 1, 1928, to Fred Amos Pattat, a well-known Fayette County farmer and landowner who preceded her in death December 26, 1994. Mrs. Pattat was a homemaker throughout her life and was also associated with her family in their farming operation in Fayette County before retirement. She had been a resident of Fayette County for most of her life and was a longtime member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church where she had served as Church Historian in past years. Mrs. Pattat had been an active member; in past years of the Bethlehem Community Farm Club and the Bethlehem Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening as long as health permitted and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. At the time of her death, Mrs. Pattat was a resident of the National Health Care Center in Somerville and was one of the oldest residents of her community. Mrs. Pattat is survived by two sons, Fred Lee Pattat and wife, Geneva of Somerville, Carlos Pattat and wife, Marie of Somerville, three brothers Houston A. Leath of Stanton, Elbert Leath of Brownsville, Giles Leath of Stanton, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Active casketbearers were Houston Leath, Jr., Jimmy Leath, Bobby Myers, Glenn Newman, Danny Pattat and Jeffrey Pattat. Honorary casketbearers were Morton Carraway, Danny Leath, Donnie Myers and Ralph Myers. The family request that memorials be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church or to the Hebron Cemetery Association.
