Mrs. Perdue died of massive internal injuries after being thrown from a car that hit a utility pole, according to state police. She was a passenger in the car, which was driven by Mrs. Shirley J. GAMBLE, 40, 109 Indiana avenue. Mrs. Gamble suffered lacerations to her scalp, left leg and left foot and a fractured hip. She was taken to Woodlawn hospital, then to St. Joseph's hospital in Kokomo where she is listed in poor condition. Another passenger, Miss Terry MILLER, 22, 1022 Franklin avenue, suffered a broken thigh and lacerations to her forehead. She also was taken to Woodlawn, then transferred to Kokomo St. Joseph's hospital where she is listed in fair condition. State police said Mrs. Gamble was driving west on the damp blacktop when for an unknown reason the car swerved off the south side of the highway and hit the utility pole. The car rolled over one complete revolution, coming to a stop on its wheels. Both Mrs. Gamble and Mrs. Perdue were thrown from the car. Mrs. Perdue was born Aug. 30, 1950 in Rocheter to Rolland D. and Martha L. ALLMAN NEWCOMER. She was employed at the Canterbury Manor nursing home and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Manitou Eagles Lodge. Surviving are a brother, Ron D. NEWCOMER, Rocheter, and a sister, Mrs. Roger (Margaret) BRYANT, Rochester. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Josef PALAT officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and until the hour of service on Sunday.
