The funeral for her was held Thursday, September 14 at the First Presbyterian Church, Wessington with the Rev. Perkins Patton officiating. Burial was in the Wessington Cemetery Order of Eastern Star also conducted a service for her. Mary Louise Thompson was born April 4, 1925 at Yankton to Edward and Hertha Thompson. She attended grade school at Hawarden, IA and high school and business college at Huron. She was a telephone operator in Huron for several years and worked in California and Huron prior to her marriage to Stanley Martens, July 18, 1948, at Huron. They lived southwest of Wessington on a farm in hand County since then. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Stephen, Akron, IA. Robert, Madison and Scott, Wessington, seven grandchildren and a brother Jack Thompson, Tacoma, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pallbearers were Wayne Horsely, Nova Palmer, Don Johnson, LeRoy McGirr, Henry Sievers and Jack Duxbury.
