Norton of East Main street last evening received a communication from Richmond announcing the death of her aunt, Mrs. Luella Whiting at that city. At the time of her passing Mrs. Whiting was aged about 74 years. The deceased was a former resident of this city and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Griffiths, old pioneers of this section. She was a native of the state of Iowa. Mrs. Whiting moved from this city several years ago and at the time of her death made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Eunice Pascoe at Richmond. Two sisters are left to mourn her passing. They are Mrs. Joseph Dixon and Mrs. Ed. Schurman, both residents of the bay area. It was announced that the remains will be shipped to this city for interment. While arrangements for the services had not been completed last evening it was stated that burial would probably be made here Wednesday.
