Description	:	William Eddingfield and Mary M. Kohr were married on Sept. 6, 1849, in Wells Co., IN. Obituary: Mrs. Mary M. Eddingfield was born in Ohio January 15, 1829, and died at the home of her son, J. H. Eddingfield in Grand Island, Nebraska, November 12, 1914, having reached the age of nearly eighty six years. She was the mother of six children, of whom but two remain, her son here in Grand Island and a son living in Kansas. Obituary: Mrs. Mary M. Eddingfield was born in Ohio January 15, 1829, and died at the home of her son, J. H. Eddingfield in Grand Island, Nebraska, November 12, 1914, having reached the age of nearly eighty six years. She was the mother of six children, of whom but two remain, her son here in Grand Island and a son living in Kansas. Mrs. Eddingfield had been a widow for many years her husband having died in 1882 (sic). She made her home with her son J. H. ever since the marriage of the latter. With him and his wife, she came to Grand Island in 1882 and has lived her ever since. She united with the Evangelical church in early life, later uniting with the Methodist Episcopal church and has been a member of Trinity church for many years. She will be greatly missed. . . Mrs. Eddingfield enjoyed remarkable health and was wonderfully preserved for one of such advanced years. During all her residence in the home of her son she was never ill enough to need a physician's care but once since her last illness which dated from two weeks ago last Sunday. On that date she was walking in the yard and stepped on some obstacle . . .causing her to fall. . .the shock received was sufficient to cause her to take her bed from which she never rose. At about five o'clock yesterday afternoon she quietly fell asleep and passed into the other world. Brief funeral services will be held at the home, 702 North Kimball Ave. tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 9 o'clock to be conducted by the pastor of Trinity church, after which the body will be taken to Huntington, Ind., for burial beside her husband and children. (Obituary states mother of 6, 2 living) 1910 Grand Island, NN: Eddingfield, John H., 59, carpenter, b. IN; Mary O., 51, b. IN, mother of 3/3; Robert, 12, b. NB; Mary M., mother, 81, widowed, b. OH (does not show how many children she had). Crimes against Life: "Mary M. Eddingfied, for the alleged poisoning of her children" (Standard History of Adams and Wells Counties, Indiana; pub. 1918; also recorded in a 1903 County Biography) It is unclear if this is the same Mary Eddingfield. It occurred in 1865. A grave marker has not yet been located. She is placed here due to information contained in her obituary.
