Mary Mae Weisner was born Nov, 20, 1889, in north Hyde County to Wecil and Mary Weisner. She married Joseph Volek, April 24, 1914, at Highmore. They farmed six years in Hand County before moving to Orient where they operated the People's Store from 1920-6. After retiring she lived in Orient until moving to Miller two years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist church in Miller. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Genevieve) Wilber, Miller; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Jessie Volek, Pierre. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and one sister. The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society.
