The son, Ronald Fee, was known to be somewhere in Omaha, but up to late this afternoon all efforts to find him and inform him of his mother's death had been fruitless. Another son, Bernard, found the body shortly before 11 p.m. He had been reading in another room while his mother had retired earlier. Getting ready to retire, he noticed that a light was burning in his mother's room and he called to her that she had better go to bed. Receiving no response he rushed into the room and found his mother's lifeless body hanging from an old-fashioned devise used to hold a window curtain rod in place. She had taken a belt form one of her son's coats, wrapped it about her neck and then kicked away a chair on which she had been standing. The son, the only other person in the house at the time, had heard no unusual sound during the course of the evening and the shock of his discovery left him in a dazed condition for some time. It was reported that she had been despondent and melancholy since the death of her husband two years ago and that of late she had been unusually so. County Coroner Burdette Roland of Atlantic was called on the telephone, but after getting a report of the tragedy decided that it appeared to be a clear case of suicide and that there would be no inquest. Mrs. Fee was about 65 years old and together with her husband had lived in Massena for many years. She was the widow of "Dick" Fee, prominent druggist of Massena. Up to recently she and her sons conducted the drug store business started by her husband, but which had been sold sever weeks ago. She is survived by the three sons, Ronald, Bernard, and Julian, and a sister in Missouri. She was a member of the Catholic church and up to recently had been quite active in religious work. Atlantic News Telegraph December 17, 1929 Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Fee of this city who ended her life by hanging here Sunday evening, will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic church here Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, the Rev. Patrick O'Donnell officiating. Interment will be made in the Massena Catholic cemetery. A son, Ronald, was located by radio Monday and returned last night for services.
