Read More	Margaret Jameson died Saturday, Nov. 18,2006, in Charleston, S.C. She was born on Sept. 8, 1920, in Anderson, S.C., the daughter of the late Lynn 0. and Idona Garrison Jameson. Miss Jameson graduated from. Winthrop College, where she began her professional career in the office of Dean of Women. She then taught mathematics in North Carolina and later worked with Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Conn., as an engineering assistant. Miss Jameson then received her MA degree in student personnel work from Syracuse University. Her next position was at Vanderbilt University as director of Residences for Women and assistant Dean of Women. Miss Jameson also took graduate studies in mathematics and engineering at Duke University and North Carolina State University. She later worked in college administration at Maryland and Texas Western College. Miss Jameson then became Dean of Students at Mississippi State College for Women from 1960-1966. She then spent 21 years at LSU as Dean of Women and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Miss Jameson was affiliated with a number of professional groups, including the National Associations of Women Deans and Counselors, the American College Personnel Association, the Regional Assocation of Women Deans and Counselors, Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honor Society and Mortar Board Leader-ship Honor Society as an alumnus and advisor. She also devoted time doing volunteer work at her church, at LSU Friends of the Library and in the gift shop at a Baton Rouge hospital. She retired from LSU in 198 7and moved to Charleston in 2002. Miss Jameson is survived by a sister, Ruth J. Snipes, Charleston; and a brother, William H. Jameson, Charleston; three nieces, Janice J. Field and her husband, Dr. Robert Field,of Dayton, Ohio, Ginny L. Snipes and Kathy J. Hare, both of Charleston. She is also survived by four great-nieces, Halle Field, Laura Field and Alexandra Field of Dayton, 0hio, and Arden Hare of Charleston; and a great-nephew, Justin Hare of Charleston. The family will receive friends at Sullivan-King Mortuary northeast chapel, 3205 North, Highway 81, Anderson, S.C., from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20. Funeral services will be held at the mortuary chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Marion Mitchell. Burial will be in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice Service, 3 Southpark Circle, Charleston, SC 29407, or to University Presbyterian Church, 3240 Dalrymple Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70802, or to the charity of choice.
