(b. 1874), Daniel/David (b. 1878),Harvey Eye (b. 1820), Elizabeth Eye (b. 1823) Highland Recorder December 24, 1915 Mrs. Emanuel Propst, who, with her aged husband, made her home with her only son, Morton, two miles north of Monterey, died unexpectedly on Friday evening. She had been complaining somewhat for a day or two, but her condition was not regarded as serious. Death came suddenly, however, and was supposed to be due to neuralgia of the heart. Mrs. Propst was 70 years of age and was a daughter of the late Benj. Middleton. She was a motherly, kind woman, and almost every home in her community will recall her kindly ministrations in times of sickness and distress. She is survived by one son and three daughters, the latter being Mrs. A.J. White, Mrs. Will Halterman, of this county, and Mrs. James Potter; of Augusta. She was a devout, christian , for many years a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and her funeral took place at Asbury Chapel Sunday morning, conducted by her pastor, Rev. C.B. Rutledge. Interment was in the family burying ground north of north of Monterey. Highland Recorder December 24, 1915 We are sorry to chronicle the death of Mrs. Mary Margaret Propst, wife of Mr. Emanuel Propst, who lived near Monterey. Mrs Propst was born July 16. 1845, died Dec, 17, 1915. She united with M.E. church some 52 years ago and had lived a devout follower of the meek and lowly Christ; she was a loving wife, a good mother, a kind neighbor and a true christian. If her neighbor needed help she was always ready to do all she could. She will be sadly missed in her own home and her neighborhood, in fact, we all will miss her. We believe our loss is her gain for we believe with all our heart she has gone to the land of rest. She leaves husband, one son and three daughters, a number of grand children and a host of friends to mourn her loss. I am glad we do not sorrow as those that have no hope, for we have a hope, we would exhort all the friends to live as the dearly departed sister lived. The funeral took place at Asbury Chapel amid a large crowd of friends and loved ones, the service being conducted by her pastor, C.B. Rutledge.
