Mrs. Dennis was the daughter of the late Rev. Leroy Elvis and Charlotte Jordan Elvis. She attended Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia. Mrs. Dennis was a member of Kingston Presbyterian Church where she served as Past President of Women of the Church. She was a Chairman of Lakeside Cemetery for many years. Mrs. Dennis was a member of Kingston Presbyterian Church where she served as Past President of Women of the Church. She was a Chairman of Lakeside Cemetery for many years. Mrs. Dennis was active in Girl Scouts of America and was a troop leader for 10 years. She was Past President of the S.C. Hospital Volunteers Auxiliary. Mrs. Dennis was a member of the Ivy Garden Club. She was predeceased by her husband, John Wiley Dennis, Sr. She is survived by her daughter Linda Marguerite Dennis of Columbia, Maryland; her son John Wiley Dennis, Jr. (Frances); grandson John Wiley Dennis, III (Jay); two sisters Vivian Chestnut (Paul), Gerri Anderson (Gene). Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday July 25, 2011 at Kingston Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rhett Talbert and Rev. Greg Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the funeral home.
