Description	:	Mary M. Patterson was born in Highland Co., Ohio, Oct. 3, 1831 and came with her parents to Iowa in 1845. Deceased was the youngest and last of a family of twelve children and all, with the exception of one, living to a ripe old age. She was married to William H. McMurray, March 11,1852. Two children were born to this union, Josephine E. and Rosa B., deceased. Mr. McMurray died August 14, 1855. She was again married March 23, 1859 to Philip Scott. They lived on a farm west of Denova from the time of their marriage until 1881... Read More	Mary M. Patterson was born in Highland Co., Ohio, Oct. 3, 1831 and came with her parents to Iowa in 1845. Deceased was the youngest and last of a family of twelve children and all, with the exception of one, living to a ripe old age. She was married to William H. McMurray, March 11,1852. Two children were born to this union, Josephine E. and Rosa B., deceased. Mr. McMurray died August 14, 1855. She was again married March 23, 1859 to Philip Scott. They lived on a farm west of Denova from the time of their marriage until 1881 when they moved to Salem living there until Mr. Scott's death, September 6, 1901. To this union was born six children: Mrs. Addie Campbell, Los Angeles, Cal., Oscar A. Scott, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Clara A. Glover, near Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; Edgar B. Scott near Stockport, Iowa; Mrs. Stella E. Tyner, Los Angeles, Cal., and Ida, who died in infancy. Since the death of Mr. Scott, she made her home with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Glover, who ministered to her gently and kindly during her long illness. Mrs. Scott united with the Presbyterian church early in life, but later united with the Methodist church of which she remained a faithful member until her death. For a number of years on account of her health, she has been unable to attend the church which she so much loved. She was a kind and loving neighbor, always ready to help in time of trouble and during her long illness even though suffering, was always cheerful and a patient sufferer. She was conscious until the last and with these words, "be good", she passed away to be with her Savior, September 16, 1916, at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 13 days. The funeral services were held at the Oakland church conducted by Rev. T.S. Pool of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, a former pastor in Salem, 23 years ago and she was laid to rest in the Oakland cemetery beside her husband, Mr. Scott. Six grandsons acted as pallbearers, Walter, Vern and Dick Glover and John, Ben and Harry Scott. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, among them being a pillow of asters which was made from the home flower garden that she had helped to raise the plants and loved so well. Besides the children to mourn the loss of a good and loving mother, she leaves 19 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 step children and a number of step grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors who will sadly miss her. No, She has gone to be with God, And safe upon that happy shore, She waits with others gone before, To greet us when our time shall come, To join that happy throng above. ["Mt.
