Description	:	Coon Rapids Enterprise August 24, 1934 Mrs. Mary Hagan, a resident of the Star community since 1886, passed away at her home north of town Saturday after being in poor health for some time. She was 76 years of age. Mary Brown was born in Bureau county, Illinois, Jan. 2, 1858, and married James Hagan of New Bedford, Ill., in 1885. She was 76 years of age. Mary Brown was born in Bureau county, Illinois, Jan. 2, 1858, and married James Hagan of New Bedford, Ill., in 1885. The following year they located on the farm where she passed away. Mr. Hagan died in 1890 since which time Mrs. Hagan made her home with her son and daughter. She is survived by her son, Wayne of Coon Rapids, and daughter, Dollie, of Casper, Wyoming, two brothers, a grandson and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Coder's funeral home. Rev. Giles Youngquist, former pastor of the Friends Pleasant Ridge church, conducted the services. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas sang some of her favorite hymns. Interment was in the Coon Rapids cemetery. The obituary follows: Mary Matilda Brown, eldest daughter of Henry and Faith Brown, was born at Neponset, in Bureau county, Illinois January 2, 1858, and passed away at her home north of Coon Rapids, August 18,193 4 at the age of 76 years, months and 16 days. She was united in marriage to James A. Hagan of New Bedford, Ill., at the Presbyterian church in Coon Rapids, March 15, 1885. The first year of their married life was spent at New Bedford, Ill. The following year they located at Coon Rapids. To this union were born two children, Wayne and Dollie. Her husband passed away Sept. 23, 1890. The next 20 years of her life were spent at Coon Rapids, the following years at Des Moines, Iowa City, Waterloo and Clinton. She returned to her former home north of Coon Rapids in the spring of 1920, where she spent the remainder of her life. She leaves to mourn her passing, Wayne, and his wife,Selma, of Coon Rapids; Dollie of Casper, Wyo.; one grandson, James; two brothers, Edwin and Henry, and many other relatives and friends.
