The year of Mary's birth on the gravestone erroneously states 1834 and should be 1820. Mary is suspected to have been the twin of Thomas McGuire (findagrave memorial 20431457) moved to Kansas in 1860 from Canada and lived in Rock Creek Township; Mary and her son Edward relocated from St. Louis to Rock Creek Township Jefferson County, Kansas in approximately 1868 following the apparent death of her husband John in St. Louis. Mary is listed on the 1870 U.S. census in Rock Creek Township as being age 50 years, confirming her birth date of 1820. Her husband John was a son of James Lynn who was deported from County Mayo Ireland to Ontario; James Lynn later resided in Huron County Ontario where he died in 1861, findagrave memorial 185214292 .
