She was born May 30,1876, in County Cavan, Ireland, the daughter of Patrick and Susan McManus McIntyre. She had lived in the Holton community since 1906. Mrs. McAsey was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic church, Holton, and the Mary Ann Circle of the church. She was married to Michael McAsey October 30,1906 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was born May 30,1876, in County Cavan, Ireland, the daughter of Patrick and Susan McManus McIntyre. She had lived in the Holton community since 1906. Mrs. McAsey was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic church, Holton, and the Mary Ann Circle of the church. She was married to Michael McAsey October 30,1906 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He died February 25,1955. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Anna Clowe, Topeka; a son, Joe McAsey, Route 3, Holton; a sister, Mrs. Susan Brady, and a brother, John McIntyre, both of County Cavan, Ireland; and two grandchildren. Father O'Grady conducted services Monday morning at St. Dominic's. Pallbearers were Tom McAsey, Roger McAsey, Bill McAllister, Clayton Bohannon, Larry Tanking and Wayne Pagel. Interment was in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. At the age of 15 she came to the United States (Ellis Island in 1892) and lived with a cousin and her family at Clarksdale, Missouri. Later she moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, and worked there until October 30, 1906, when she was united in marriage to Mike McAsey and moved to her home at rural Holton, where she lived the rest of her life. She was the eldest of six children.
