Description	:	Mrs. Henry Wilson, 87, a former rural Garwin and Toledo resident and mother of Mrs. Albert Prusha of Tama and Mrs. Emil Herink of Traer, died at 11:30 Sunday morning, April 14, 1963, at the Traer Convalescent Home where she has been receiving care since October, 1961. Death was due to diabetes and complications of old age. She was bedfast the last week. Death was due to diabetes and complications of old age. She was bedfast the last week. As Mary Vajgrt, one of 10 children of John and Mary Placek Vajgrt, she was born September 16, 1875, in Czechoslovakia. At age 16 she came to the United States with her parents and 7 brothers and a sister, the family settling at Ferguson in Marshall county. Her father obtained farm work. As a young woman, Mary was employed at housework. She was married on her 21st birthday, September 16, 1896, to Anton Mehulka of Marshalltown, also a native of Czechoslovakia. Following her marriage she started housekeeping in Vining where her husband worked for the Milwaukee railroad. In 1900 they moved to Ferguson where Mr. Mehulka bought a 40-acre farm. He sold this place in 1911 and the family moved to an 82-acre farm which he purchased 4 miles southeast of Garwin in Howard township, Tama county. The couple lived on this farm for 13 years until Mr. Mehulka's death. Mrs. Mehulka then moved to Toledo to make her home with her son, Emanuel. Later she spent 7 years at Bonduel, Wis. Returning to Toledo she married Henry Wilson and they made their home in Toledo. After his death in February, 1950, Mrs. Wilson lived alone for awhile in Toledo, then broke up housekeeping. She spent 4 years with her daughter, Mrs. Albert Prusha in Tama, and the next 4 years with her other daughter, Mrs. Emil Herink in Traer, after which she entered the Traer Convalescent Home in October, 1961. While a resident of Vining Mrs. Wilson attended the Congregational church in Vining. Surviving are her two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Prusha of Tama and Mrs. Eleanora Herink of Traer, and the son, Emanuel Mehulka of Colorado Springs, Colo., also 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, and a brother, Thomas Vajgrt of Boyd, Wis. Elmer G. Wilson of Tama is a step-son of the deceased. The grandchildren are Leonard and Elmer Prusha, Tama businessmen; Ernest Herink, west of Clutier, president of the Tama County Farm Bureau; LaVern Herink, College Park, Md.; Miss Phyllis Herink, Traer; Mrs. William (Jane) Pearce, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. David (Gretchen) Bilyeu, Ames; and Miss Joy Mehulka, Colorado Springs, Colo. Preceding Mrs. Wilson in death were two infant sons; her parents; seven brothers, Frank Vajgrt in the old country, John in Wisconsin, and Anton, Ben, Fred, Joe and Slav, all in the Marshalltown area, and a sister, Mrs. Frances Peshel, near Garwin.
