Description	:	Mary (Darling) Lankford age 77, of New Albin, died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at her home. She was born October 12, 1942 in New Albin, Iowa, the sixth child born to Melvin and Mildred (Henry) Darling. She grew up in New Albin and received her elementary education at the local school. She attended St. George High School in Lansing and graduated with the class of 1960. After graduation she attended Gates Business College in La Crosse. She was born October 12, 1942 in New Albin, Iowa, the sixth child born to Melvin and Mildred (Henry) Darling. She grew up in New Albin and received her elementary education at the local school. She attended St. George High School in Lansing and graduated with the class of 1960. After graduation she attended Gates Business College in La Crosse. She was employed by the La Crosse Telephone Company. On December 30, 1961 she married Leland Dwight Lankford at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Albin. In 1965, Mary and Lee moved Glasgow, Kentucky. Their marriage was blessed with the adoption of a daughter, Rachel in March of 1971. They later moved back to New Albin. Mary was employed by the Blumenthal Lansing Company from 1979 until her retirement. Mary was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Albin where she enjoyed volunteering and supporting parish functions. She loved gardening and caring for her furry friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. Mary is survived by her daughter, Rachel, granddaughter Jasmine, one brother Jack (Pat) Darling of La Crosse, two sisters, Rita (Larry) Lager of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, Kathy (Lyle) Goetzinger of New Albin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland in December, 2018, her parents Melvin and Mildred Darling, one sister, Carol Weber, three brothers, Alvin, Gerald and Rick Darling. Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in New Albin. Visitation will be at 8:30 until 10:30 followed by the funeral mass. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Caledonia Chapel, is assisting the family
