Description	:	Mary Miller, former Shelby county resident died from pneumonia Tuesday morning, February 25, 1958 at a Boone, Iowa hospital at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 29 days. She was born on a farm one half mile east of Westphalia, Iowa on August 27, 1873 and was the daughter of Michael and Catherine Miller. There she grew to young womanhood and attended school. Read More	Mary Miller, former Shelby county resident died from pneumonia Tuesday morning, February 25, 1958 at a Boone, Iowa hospital at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 29 days. She was born on a farm one half mile east of Westphalia, Iowa on August 27, 1873 and was the daughter of Michael and Catherine Miller. There she grew to young womanhood and attended school. She was a lifetime member of the Roman Catholic church. For over forty years, she was a housekeeper for her brother, Julius until his death in 1950. Until 1913 they lived on a farm near Panama, when he purchased a farm near Esterville, Iowa where they resided until 1919 at which time he sold his farm and bought another near Boone. When her brother retired in 1939, she moved to town with him and continued living in Boone until her death. She is survived by two sisters, Sister M. Adelaide of La Cross, Wisconsin and Sister M. Basilla, a teacher at Luxemberg, Iowa. Her parents, five brothers, Peter of Defiance, John of Dubuque, Emil of Earling, Julius of Boone and Leo of Harlan and three sisters, Mrs Joe Frank of Earling, Mrs John Rosman of Defiance and Sister M. Leonetta of La Cross Wisconsin preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at St. Boniface church in Westphalia Wednesday morning February 26 with Rev. H.E. Duren officiating. Pallbearers were grand nephews; Ronald Schiltz, Marvin Miller, Dennis Kenkel, Robert Sondermann, Joel Kenkel and Duane Miller. Burial was in the St. Boniface cemetery in Westphalia.
