Description	:	BORDNER, MARY MINERVA—Mary Minerva, daughter of Andrew and Mary Heckart, was born November 2, 1870, at Forreston, Ill. She departed this life April 12, 1954, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Carl Janing, near Geneva, Neb., at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 10 days. Read More	BORDNER, MARY MINERVA—Mary Minerva, daughter of Andrew and Mary Heckart, was born November 2, 1870, at Forreston, Ill. She departed this life April 12, 1954, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Carl Janing, near Geneva, Neb., at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 10 days. At an early age she with her parents moved to Northumberland county, Pennsylvania, where she attended school and joined the United Reformed church. April 20, 1891, she was united in marriage to Charles Franklin Bordner, after which they came to Nebraska, locating near Hooper. In the spring of 1904 they moved onto a farm they purchased near Geneva. Later they retired and moved to Geneva, where they are affiliated with the congregational church. Mrs. Bordner enjoyed doing her part in the ladies' activities as long as her health permitted. To this union were born five children. Three sons, George, and one daughter, Mrs. Harry of Geneva and Paul of Houston Tex., Carl Janing (Esther) of Geneva survive also two sisters in Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and the elder daughter, Estella. Mr. and Mrs. Bordner celebrated their golden anniversary in 1941. Memories of Mrs. Bordner are those of a kind, loving mother and grandmother. Her principal interests were in her home with her family and her church. She was a kindly neighbor, always willing to do her part in times of need. Her ambition was anxiety for finished tasks to be well done. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Ashby funeral home in Geneva at 3 p. m. Friday, April 16, with Rev. L. E. Werner officiating. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
