Svoboda in Abie Tuesday April 5. Mrs. Svoboda was in her 55th year. She died at St. Joseph's hospital in Omaha Friday April 1, after an illness of some two years due to heart trouble. Burial was in Sts. Peter's and Paul's cemetery at Abie. Mrs. Svoboda was the widow of the late Joe L. Svoboda, who was a prominent banker in Omaha, and who organized banks at Howells, Abie, Lindsay, Omaha and South Omaha. Mrs. Svoboda's maiden name was Mary Mishek. She was born in Colfax county, Nebraska, August 28, 1872, and passed away in Omaha April 1, aged 54 years, 7 months and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Joseph Svoboda at Howells in 1890. Mr. Svoboda died in July, 1914. Mrs. Svoboda was the mother of 12 children, six of whom survive. Two sons are attorneys in Omaha, another son is a banker at Lindsay. The surviving children are Rudolph E. Svoboda, Miss Mary Svoboda, Edward J. Svoboda and Dr. Joseph P. Svoboda of Omaha, Mrs. Anton Tresnak of Dodge and William F. Svoboda of Lindsay.
