Mary, who grew up with the nickname "Dolly" was born August 2, 1912 in the family home in rural Guthrie County, Iowa. She was the youngest of nine children born to Logan McCool, Sr. and Adabelle (Russell) McCool. Mary, who grew up with the nickname "Dolly" was born August 2, 1912 in the family home in rural Guthrie County, Iowa. She was the youngest of nine children born to Logan McCool, Sr. and Adabelle (Russell) McCool. On June 19, 1929, she married Howard Estill Anderson and to this union three children were born; Kenneth Dean Anderson, Norma Mae Anderson Zuck, and Buddy Ray Anderson. Howard and Mary farmed in Guthrie County. Widowed in 1943, Mary moved with her children to Guthrie Center, Iowa, where she lived until 1953, when she moved to Des Moines, Iowa. She married Harold William Krieger on September 5, 1953. For 27 years until her retirement, she worked in food service at Drake University in Des Moines. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Howard E. Anderson and Harold W. Krieger; four brothers; four sisters; her son-in-law, Roy Junior Zuck; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Left to mourn are her children, Dean (Mary Rae) Anderson; Norma Zuck; and Bud (Kyung Ja) Anderson; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends. Her body was cremated and the cremains will be laid to rest next to the father of her children in Bear Grove Cemetery, rural Guthrie County, Iowa, after a private memorial service to be held at a later date.
