Parker, 90, of South 15th Street, passed away 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Alliance Community Hospital where she was taken after becoming ill at home. Mary was born in East Palestine on June 10, 1921, a daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth King Parker, and had resided in East Palestine until 1993 moving to Sebring. Parker, 90, of South 15th Street, passed away 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Alliance Community Hospital where she was taken after becoming ill at home. Mary was born in East Palestine on June 10, 1921, a daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth King Parker, and had resided in East Palestine until 1993 moving to Sebring. She had been employed as the Assistant Secretary at the former New Waterford Bank for 29 years, retiring in 1983. Prior to that time she had been employed with the former W.S. George Pottery for 14 years. Mary had been a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church, the Dorcas Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women, and Area Women Aware. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Parker, and a sister, Edna Parker. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Burns Memorial Chapel, Glenview Cemetery, East Palestine, with Rev. Mark McTrustry, of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. It was Mary's wishes that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the memorial fund of her church. Arrangements were with the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine.
