She had been in ill health for two months preceding her death. Mrs. Eilers' maiden name was Mary Peters, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Peters. She was born Jan. 2, 1870, and married to Henry Eilers in November, 1886. Nine children were born to this union: Mrs. Arthur Hanssen, Monticello; Herman, Cedar Rapids; Grant, Anamosa; Mrs. Lou King, Lamont; Irving, Center Junction, and Mrs. Lou Heiken, Hopkinton. Two are now dead, Albert and Mrs. Carl Schatz. Mr. Eilers preceded his wife in death. Mrs. Eilers is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her surviving brothers and sisters are: Mrs. William Hubbell, Los Angeles; Mrs. Ed Eilers and Mrs. John Wenger, Monticello; George Peters, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Augusta Kellogg, Waterloo; Mrs. Lillian Hart, Cedar Rapids.
