Her maiden name was Mary Plumb She was united in marriage to Robert Collins at Bennington, Vermont, Sept. 14, 1861 after which they were located in Marshall Co, Iowa, where they resided until the death of the husband and father Feb 3, 1891 at Albion, Iowa. Read More	From a 1910 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, transcribed by Linda Berney: Died at the residence of her son Gilbert Collins in Nance Co., Nebr., August 13th 1910, Mrs. Mary Collins, a native of Vermont. Her maiden name was Mary Plumb She was united in marriage to Robert Collins at Bennington, Vermont, Sept. 14, 1861 after which they were located in Marshall Co, Iowa, where they resided until the death of the husband and father Feb 3, 1891 at Albion, Iowa. Four children were born to this union, Louise, George, Gilbert and Charley. There only remains Gilbert of St. Edward, Nebr., where for the past fifteen years she has made her home, and enjoyed an unusually large friendship. The remains were shipped Monday to Albion, Iowa, accompanied by Gilbert, where funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church of which she was a faithful follower. The body was laid to rest among loved ones to wait the great resurrection. A short service was held at home Sunday, Aug. 14, before starting for Iowa.
