Description	:	Mary Powell McKenzie KINGSTREE - Mrs. Mary Powell McKenzie, 82, widow of Bill McKenzie, died Friday, September 9, 2011, at her residence after an illness. Mrs. McKenzie was born August 7, 1929, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Hartley Leland and Mamie McKenzie Powell. She graduated from Kingstree High School and was retired from Baxter Labs. Mrs. McKenzie was a member of Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. McKenzie was born August 7, 1929, in Kingstree, a daughter of the late Hartley Leland and Mamie McKenzie Powell. She graduated from Kingstree High School and was retired from Baxter Labs. Mrs. McKenzie was a member of Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. In addition to her husband Bill and her parents, Mrs. McKenzie was preceded in death by a son DeWitt McKenzie, and 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Surviving are: her children, Richard (Toni) McKenzie, Cheryl (Gary) McClam, Darlene (Donald) Ray, and Carol McKenzie, all of Kingstree and Ellis (Angela) McKenzie, of Rio Rico, AZ; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 12, 2011, in the Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial in Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Williamsburg Funeral Home. Memorials may be made Sandy Bay Pentecostal Holiness Church, 172 Delos Road, Kingstree, SC 29556.
