WESTECOTT: On Thursday, April 12th, the funeral took place of Mary Stone, the wife of Joseph Westecott, living on the 3rd line of Melancthon, near Redickville Methodist church. Mrs. Westecott was 55 years of age at the time of her death and had suffered from a lengthy illness of something over two years. WESTECOTT: On Thursday, April 12th, the funeral took place of Mary Stone, the wife of Joseph Westecott, living on the 3rd line of Melancthon, near Redickville Methodist church. Mrs. Westecott was 55 years of age at the time of her death and had suffered from a lengthy illness of something over two years. Through all her suffering and weakness she had always manifested a most beautiful spirit of quiet faith in God. While toward the end she was terribly weak, always her thoughts were for others, what could she do to make others happy and help others who were sick. She was a member of Redickville Methodist church and took a keen interest in all departments of its work, attending and helping till too ill, and interested even when unable to attend. She seemed to rally a little Tuesday morning, just as the lamp flickers up before it goes out, but in the afternoon she rapidly sank and died at 8:30. The funeral service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. F. Bamford, taking as his text, "Let me die the death of the righteous and let my last end be like his," Numbers 23:10. The large number who in spite of bad roads attended her funeral showed the great respect which all held for her. The floral offerings were: Wreath, Husband and Daughter; Gates Ajar, Brothers and Sisters; Wreath, Mr. and Mrs. G. Coulter; Wreath, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Orvis, Verna and Leslie; Spray, E. Summers; Spray, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Westecott; Spray, Mrs. Broderick and Miss Crowe; Wreath, the Redickville Methodist Ladies' Aid, of which she had been a member.
