Mary was preceded in death by a brother Henry, a sister Marion P. Rosenmerkel, Cumberland, Maryland. "As they were for so much of their lives here, Mary and Don Paulman are once again together. Their 13 years of separation ended on 07 October 2006. Their story is a long one. It began when they were high school sweethearts, who later joined together in marriage. It endured the separation imposed by the war. In the aftermath of the separation it flourished. They were able to begin a family that grew into three children, Richard, John "Jack" and Mary Sue. Their love, encouragement and guidance allowed their children to grow and prosper, eventually adding two daughter in laws, Eleanor and Dorothy, and one son in law, Wayne. From these marriages came four grandchildren, Justin, Melanie, Michael & Robert. And the circle of family continued to grow now including two granddaughters in law, Robin and Brandi; and two great grandchildren, Adian and Gracie. Their joy in their family was unbounded. It is a joy they can now share again. Mary and Don spent much of their lives together giving back to the community. It is something they did together. They worked together as leaders in the Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs, which through which they touched many young lives. They volunterred to be part of the things that help our community, like the Red Cross blood drives and youth athletics. Their overarching passion was for their Church, Centre Street Methodist, and their church family. They taught Sunday School; served on many committees to address all aspects of life of the church; sponsored youth groups; visited the sick, elderly and shut ins; paticipated in the physical labor required to keep the structure viable; worked on every project and staffed every bazaar; and, perhaps most importantly, served as an example of how to live a loving and giving life together with in the context of their faith. It is impossible to count, or even know, the lives that they touched as they, together, participated in the life of their church. Our thanks to everyone who has remembered us with a card or shared condolences. They will be missed by the family and by friends.
