Mrs. Barker was born in Carroll County, Va., Sept. 13, 1915, to the late Squire Franklin and Martha Elizabeth Carson Golding. She was retired from Renfro and was a member of Fancy Gap Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Nell Gardner and James Donald Byrd of the home; a sister, Ida Shelton of Mount Airy; and several special nieces and nephews.
