She suffered a stroke January 29, and since then has been in the hospital. Marie Schrieber, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Edward Schreiber, was born in Springfield IL on April 5, 1869, and died at the age of 69 years. She lived in IL in her childhood and went to IA later, where she attended school and also attended the Normal College at Carol IA. On January 11, 1891, she was united in marriage at Carol to William H McCurdy, who preceded her in death six years ago. With her husband, she came to MT in 1916 and had lived on a ranch near Forsyth until his death, and then made her home with her daughter, Mrs Blanche Lovell, in Forsyth. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving relatives include three daughters, Mrs Blanche Lovell of Forsyth, Mrs Elizabeth Cooper of Missoula, Mrs Iola Cole of Forsyth, and two sons, AL McCurdy of Fallon and Edward of Glacier Park; 19 grandchildren; five sisters, Dora Maze of Carol, Effie Bond ofCoon Rapids IA, Maude Hill of SD, and Dolly and Ruby Baden of TX; and one brother, Fred Schreiber of Spears Lake MN. Funeral services were held in Miles City February 21 and were in charge of the Rev WC Smith, pastor of the Methodist Church and a boyhood friend of the family. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages" were sung by Iola Stevens and interment was made in the Miles City Cemetery. Pallbearers included Floyd Robertson, WH Draper, John Polzine, Arby Swartz, William Harrison and John Koest. With the exception of one member, the pallbearers were the same as had served during the funeral services of Mr McCurdy six years ago. -----The Terry Tribune 3-2-1939 p. 6
