Description	:	Mary Schroeder, daughter of Fred and Margaret Schroeder, was born in Germany January 31, 1872 and died at home in Central City, October 15, 1958 at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 15 days. She came to the United States with her parents as a little girl. In 1889 she was united in marriage to John Schlemmer, in Jones county, and since that time has lived in Jones and Linn county until her death. To this union three children were born. Read More	Mary Schroeder, daughter of Fred and Margaret Schroeder, was born in Germany January 31, 1872 and died at home in Central City, October 15, 1958 at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 15 days. She came to the United States with her parents as a little girl. In 1889 she was united in marriage to John Schlemmer, in Jones county, and since that time has lived in Jones and Linn county until her death. To this union three children were born. Two children and her husband have preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Mrs. Emma Walden, who has been with and cared for her the past eight years, with the devotion of a kind daughter; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, one brother, George Schroeder, of Manchester; one sister, Mrs. Anna Weers of Anamosa, and other relatives and friends. She was a lifelong member of the German Reformed church and faithful to her Christian devotion. She had much sickness in her lifetime, and for the past 18 was confined to bed, but patient through it all, and death came following a stroke on October 15. Funeral services were conducted in the Passmore Funeral Home, Saturday, October 18, at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. O.L. Allison. Burial was in Mt. Clark Cemetery. Pallbearers were Franklin Sauer, B.H. O'Meara, Richard Elefson and Lee Passmore.
