Description	:	After Mary Elliot's 2nd husband Dr. John Seaver Elliot, Mary left the bulk of her estate to her mother who was her closet living relative. After her mother passed away the remainder of that estate was to to given to the City to build a hospital, after her mother's death in 1884, there was aproximately $60,000 to start the building. The City dragged it out for a while, however, contributions started coming in and when ground breaking took place in 1888, there was close to $100,000 in money for the new hospital.
