She was born in Marietta, Washington Co, Ohio July 1, 1830. She moved with her parents to Albion, Illinois, when she was 6 years old. She was born in Marietta, Washington Co, Ohio July 1, 1830. She moved with her parents to Albion, Illinois, when she was 6 years old. On March 23, 1849, was united in marriage with Zebulon Jennings McKibben. To this union seven children were born. Two died in infancy and the others survive. Those remaining are Henry McKibben of Logan, Kansas, Mrs. Addie Emerson of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Mrs. Ann Knapp, Mrs. Jane Nichols and Joseph McKibben, all of Webster, S.D. The deceased leaves also 33 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters in Kansas. Her husband preceded her to the Great Beyond many years ago, dying in St. Louis, August 21, 1863 while in Jefferson Barracks, a member of the Union Army. In 1867 the widow moved with her children to Millerville, Minn. where she took a homestead and resided until coming to Webster in 1882. And here through all these years she has made her home. Her's was a true Christian Life, a devout member of the Methodist Church. In early days her home was the meeting place of the Sunday School and other church gatherings. Her beautiful and devoted motherhood, her sincere friendship and noble life endeared her to all. The funeral services were held in this city Monday and all that was mortal of this pure, true, and good woman were laid to rest in the City Cemetery.
