Her parents, the Stevensons, were some of the 1st settlers in Richland Twp. & the 1st Methodist Church in Fairfield Co. was built on their property there which was a log cabin. She married Samuel Peters on 11-28-1795 in Baltimore Co., MD. They relocated from MD to Fairfield Co., OH on 4-30-1812. They had 13 children. Her parents, the Stevensons, were some of the 1st settlers in Richland Twp. & the 1st Methodist Church in Fairfield Co. was built on their property there which was a log cabin. She married Samuel Peters on 11-28-1795 in Baltimore Co., MD. They relocated from MD to Fairfield Co., OH on 4-30-1812. They had 13 children. They settled north of West Rushville in Rushcreek on Snake Run. Five years later they bought land south of Royalton that was owned by Benjamin Haas in 1900 (where the Haas-Peters Cemetery is now located & where Mary & her husband are buried). They were farmers. Their children settled in the Amanda, Fairfield Co. & Pickaway Co. areas. Their sons & grandsons became Congressman, judges, lawyers, bankers, & successful businessmen, many relocating to Marion Co. & Wyandot Co., OH to seek their fortunes. Nine of their children lived to be 70 years or older. Their son Stevenson Peters lived near East Ringgold in Pickaway Co. on his family farm where a Grand Reunion took place in 1882 & the remaining 11 of 13 siblings came together for the 1st time in over 50 yrs. Stevenson's son took over the home after his death through the early 1900s. In 1929, 47 yr. after the Grand Reunion another huge reunion took place at a great-grandson's in Columbus with 163 family members from OH, IL, etc. Mary & her husband's descendants formed The Peters Family Association who published The Peters-Stevenson Family Genealogical Record and History in May, 1930. The Stevensons are named in most of the History of Fairfield Co.. OH books. **DAR states Daniel's military service is compromised so currently, there is no DAR eligibility. However, new info in Family Search may prove otherwise.
