Read More	Mrs. U.S. Blough, County Resident Since 1858, Dies Her Parents Early Settlers Of Orange Township; Funeral Saturday. Mrs. U. S. Blough, 77, died at her home, 266 Hammond avenue, at 5 a. m. Friday. Death was due to advanced age and complications. Mary Susan Miller, eldest daughter of Samuel M. and Anna Miller, was born Aug. 3, 1856 in Somerset county, Pennsylvania. Her parents were among the pioneers of Black Hawk county, coming here in 1858 when she was but 2 years of age. The Miller family was among the first to settle in Orange township, where the greatest part of her life was spent. Married in 1880. [sic] On Dec. 7, 1880, she was united in marriage with Uriah S. Blough. They resided on a farm in Orange township until 18 years ago, when they took up their residence in Waterloo. Surviving, besides the husband, are six children, Mrs. Jennie Shick, McFarland, Cal.; Warren W. Blough, Elmer E. Blough and Mrs. Ida Snavely, all of Orange township; Rev. John H. Blough, Muscatine, Ia., and Robert Blough, Polo, Ill.; 18 grandchildren, and four brothers and sisters, as follows: Harvey Miller, Pasadena, Cal.; at present at the W. H. Maust home, 723 Denver street, Waterloo, recovering from an operation; Robert Miller and Miss Abbie Miller, both of Modesto, Cal., and Mrs. Nora Cook, Wilsey, Kan. Daughter Died in China. Another daughter, Anna V. Blough, preceded her in death in 1922, while in service on the China mission field. Mrs. Blough was a member of the Church of the Brethren. The body rests at the Petersen Bros.’ funeral home, where a prayer service will be held at 1:45 p. m. Saturday, followed by a service at the Church of the Brethren, Seventh and South streets, in charge of Rev. A. P. Blough, pastor.
