Description	:	Mary Brown Tinsley Loringer, 94, of Chestertown, MD and formerly of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017. Born September 29, 1922, in Blythewood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Martha Lauhon Brown and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Loringer attended the University of South Carolina and was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company in Spartanburg for 10 years before moving to Delaware in 1954. Born September 29, 1922, in Blythewood, SC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Martha Lauhon Brown and the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Loringer attended the University of South Carolina and was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company in Spartanburg for 10 years before moving to Delaware in 1954. In 1951, she married Charles H. Tinsley, Jr. and lived in the Newark, DE area until Mr. Tinsleys death in 1989. She lived in Delaware for 37 years before moving back to Spartanburg. Following her marriage to Rev. Dr. Richard L. Loringer in 1995, she moved to Maryland and retired to Santee, SC in 1996. In 2000, Dr. and Mrs. Loringer moved to a retirement home, Heron Point, in Chestertown, MD. Mrs. Loringer was an artist and naturalist. She loved music, sang in church choirs, and was active in various churches. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, SC. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Dr. Richard L. Loringer of Chestertown, MD; three step-children; and 15 nieces and nephews and their descendants. She was predeceased by two brothers, Samuel A. Brown and James W. Brown, Sr.; and four sisters, Sarah J. Brown, Mrs. Robert E. Hunt, Mrs. Olin E. Marsh, and Mrs. Thomas H. Jones. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:30 PM Monday, September 18, 2017, at Floyds North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Floyds North Church Street Chapel. Burial will be in Yarborough Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 465 Yarborough Rd., Enoree, SC 29335.
