Born in Startex, S.C. she was the wife of Jack Junior Spencer and daughter of the late Rev. R. E. Turner and Olar Kimbrell Turner. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, attended Spartanburg Technical College, retired from Wal-Mart and was a member of Carlisle Wesleyan Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Dennis Robert Spencer of the home; two daughters, Dana Spencer Mahaffey and husband, Jeff of Inman, S.C. and Debbie Spencer Hamilton and husband Danny of Pacolet, S.C.; two brothers, Rev. Furman Turner of Gaffney and Leland Turner and wife, Lavenia of Landrum, S.C.; a sister, Ester Hutchins of Boiling Springs, S.C.; four grandchildren, Todd Humphries and wife, Ashley, Timothy Humphries, Jennifer Lawless and husband, John Michael and Jeru Mahaffey; six great-grandchildren, Chloe Humphries, Carrie Humphries, Brooke Humphries, Michael Lawless, Nicholas Lawless and Evelyn Lawless; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin Turner, Charles Turner and James Turner and a sister, Ruth Hutchins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Stepp and Pastor Jeff Mahaffey officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Alzheimers Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, S.C. 29302. The family will be at the residence, 191 Old Race Track Road, Gaffney. An online guest register is available at www.blakelyfuneralhome.com.
