Although young in life she had won for herself a host of friends and was loved by all who knew her. She made no distinction among her friends, but, having a deep sense as to right and wrong, she loved everyone who tried to do right. Read More	From the Skidmore Standard, May 8, 1903, page 1: "Mary Vea Teson was born Oct. 7, 1892, died April 15, 1903, aged 11 years 6 months and 18 days. Although young in life she had won for herself a host of friends and was loved by all who knew her. She made no distinction among her friends, but, having a deep sense as to right and wrong, she loved everyone who tried to do right. She was not a member of any church, but gave ample evidence as one who had been 'born again.' She loved to attend church and Sunday school and often during her sickness she lamented that she was not able to attend. She was a regular attendant at the Baptist church and will be greatly missed from the congregation, especially by the pastor and her Sunday school teacher. She suffered a great deal during her sickness but was patient in it all, and even when she was in the greatest pain she could give a kind look and speak words of comfort to her anxious parents and her little sister, Hazel, the only remaining child. She seemed to realize the fact that God was calling her, and the last evening that she was conscious, and almost the last words she ever spoke, was a song sung in a whisper: 'I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord. I'll be what you want me to be.' God loved her more than we did, and took her unto himself. May the Holy Spirit comfort the hearts of those who mourn. The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church by Rev. R. C. Miller of Liberty, Mo., former pastor of the church, and her remains were laid to rest in the Groves cemetery by the side of a baby sister that died some two years ago.
