E. church, a very impressive funeral service for Mr. and Mrs. Charley Blair, who departed this life Thursday night, at O’Neill. The services were conducted by Rev. Runnels assisted by Rev. Read More	*CHARLEY AND MARY BLAIR* Last Saturday afternoon at two-thirty o’clock, there was held at the M. E. church, a very impressive funeral service for Mr. and Mrs. Charley Blair, who departed this life Thursday night, at O’Neill. The services were conducted by Rev. Runnels assisted by Rev. Ira Halvorsen. The text of the sermon was taken from Jeremiah 12-3: “But thou 0 Lord knowest me:” We judge flesh, God judges heart, we must be father and mother to children. Practice love instead of criticising. Both caskets were covered with beautiful floral wreaths. The choir was composed of Rev. and Mrs. Halvorsen, Mrs. Graves and Rev. Morrisson. After the service the large crowd followed the funeral cortege to the Chambers cemetery were the remains were placed side by side in the same grave to await the final judgment day. *Mary Violet Kutcher.* Mary Violet Kutcher was born at the old home place south of Chambers, February 7th, 1888. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kutcher. She had six brothers, four dying in infancy, Joseph and William living near Chambers, and two sisters Mrs. Clarence White of O’Neill, and Mrs. Mike Fleek, east of town. *Charles Sylvester Blair.* Charles Sylvester Blair was born east of Brainard, Nebr , November 21, 1877. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Blair, who died in Chambers about six months ago. Charles Blair had three brothers, Albert of Gordon, Joseph of Brainard, and Rolly of Shelby, Nebr. Four sisters, Mrs. Joe Meyers of Chambers, Mrs. Mary Jones of Mierman, Mrs. Ardella Jones of David City and Mrs. Bessie Janousek of Touly, Nebr. Mary Violet Kutcher and Charles Sylvester Blair were married January 1, 1903. To this union four children were born, and all are living, Violet Raleigh, William, and Junitta. Mr. and Mrs. Blair departed this life in O'Neill, August 26th, 1920. Mr. Blair being 42 yrs. 9 months and 5 days. Mrs. Blair was 32 yrs., 6 months and 19 days old. They were admitted in full membership in the M. E., church of Chambers, Sept., 15 1912, and both remained in church until death. They leave to mourn their departure fours children, a mother and father, five brothers, six sisters and a host of friends. ’Tis rough up over the mountain. The path is stormy and steep But it leads to the blessed fountain, Whose waters cannot be beat. We stumble and fall in the pathway, And looks like we all would fail. But there always comes a brighter day. And Jesus clears the trail. Let none of us think of failing, When we see no light ahead. But trust in the One who is sailing We will then have nothing to dread, Gone but not forsaken, Sleeping, but not dead. Out of our presence entirely, But in our memory still. To the dear friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us in life’s greatest trial, and those who so deftly wove together the beautiful flowers, we tender our sincere thanks. in this our second death in the past six months.
