Description	:	MATHEWS - Mary Virginia Majette Jarvis, age 77, went to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, March 24, 2004, at 8:35 p.m., with her family at her bedside. Mary was born July 16, 1926, on Gwynn's Island, where she lived all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgie R. Majette. She was a faithful member of Redeeming Grace Baptist Church and the owner and operator of M&J Beauty Boutique for a number of years where she was a hairdresser. Read More	MATHEWS - Mary Virginia Majette Jarvis, age 77, went to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, March 24, 2004, at 8:35 p.m., with her family at her bedside. Mary was born July 16, 1926, on Gwynn's Island, where she lived all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgie R. Majette. She was a faithful member of Redeeming Grace Baptist Church and the owner and operator of M&J Beauty Boutique for a number of years where she was a hairdresser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edgie Raymond Majette Jr., and a nephew, William Carlton Majette. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James M. Jarvis; one son, James R. (Bucky) Jarvis and his wife, Melissa, Gloucester, Va.; one daughter, Gayle Jarvis Hudgins and her husband, Tyrone, Grimstead, Va.; eight grandchildren, Bart and wife, Kim, Kent and wife, Courtney, Karla Jarvis, Chris and wife, Amy, Andy and wife, Amy, Neal and wife, Kasey, Ryan and Ross Hudgins and two stepgrandchildren, Rhett and Kaitlyn McWright as well as eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Dale, Hunter, Isabella and Tyler Hudgins, Isaac, Andrew and Ashley Jarvis. She is also survived by two brothers, Carlton Majette and his wife, Hazel, Norman Majette and his wife, Virginia, sister-in-law, Pauline Majette, a nephew, Mark Majette and niece, Sharon Majette Caradonna. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home followed by burial service at Gwynn's Island Cemetery. Her grandsons will be her pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, P O Box 723, Mathews, VA 23109 and /or Redeeming Grace Baptist Church, P O Box 852, Cobbs Creek, VA 23035.
