The daughter of John and Mary Wenger, she was born near Guernsey Feb. 28, 1871. She was one of a family of nine children. All except Mrs. Emma Hunt of Sioux City, now more than 100 years old, preceded her in death. Mrs. Bramer's parents came to America from Switzerland in 1850, living in Ohio, Illinois and Newton, Iowa, before settling in the Moravian community, southeast of Brooklyn. On October 23, 1889, she was married to Andrew Bramer and the couple lived with Mr. Bramer's parents one year before establishing their home on a farm near Guernsey where they reared and educated their three children, Bess, Hazel and Rex. In the fall of 1918 the family moved to the present home on Jackson street in Brooklyn where Mr. Bramer died January 12, 1947. Mrs. Bramer and daughter, Bess, continued to live in the family home. Mrs. Bramer was a member of the Methodist church, working in the Women's Society and the Miriam Sunday School class which she served as both president and teacher. She is survived by three children, Bess Bramer and Rex Bramer of Brooklyn and Mrs. James (Hazel) Likely of Ames. She also leaves a granddaughter, Mrs. Eldon (Mary Jane) Ormiston of Waverly; two great-grandchildren, Mary Beth and Melissa Ormiston; two step-grandchildren, Rev. Charles Likely and Mrs. Florence Siedelmann; eight step great-grandchildren and one sister. A great-grandson, Stephen Ormiston, preceded her in death May 4, 1948. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at Bramer's funeral home in charge of the Rev. C.W. Woollard, pastor of Grace Methodist church. Leo Shuler was organist. Interment was in I.O.O.F. cemetery with J.L. McCluskey, Gerald Wenger, R.J. Roudabush, C.W. Fowler, E.L. Montgomery and B.F. Hicks serving as pallbearers. Mr. and Mrs. Maynard McLain were in charge of flowers.
