After an illness of several months duration, Mrs. Mary Mark died at her late residence in Bellwood on Sunday afternoon last. May 26, 1901. Mary West, as was her maiden name, was born in Lewis county, Ky., Aug 8, 1829. She was married to John A Mark, Feb 26, 1850. To them were born eight children, two having passed away in infancy. May 26, 1901. Mary West, as was her maiden name, was born in Lewis county, Ky., Aug 8, 1829. She was married to John A Mark, Feb 26, 1850. To them were born eight children, two having passed away in infancy. Mrs. Mark and husband moved to Iowa in 1853, again to Butler county Neb, in 1882, and in 1889 they moved to Bellwood. Deceased was converted and united with the M E church when 12 years of age. She lived a consistent christian life. Her husband preceded her to the glorious beyond Feb 24, 1899, since which time the thought uppermost in her mind was to live to meet him where parting is no more. Six children, eighteen grand children and two great grand children are left to mourn her loss. Funeral was held on Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the M E church, Rev. Kemper conducting the services, after which the remains were conveyed to the Bellwood cemetery for burial. A large number were in attendance. The sons and daughters of the deceased, all of whom were present for the funeral, have the sympathy of their many friends in this vicinity. Contributor: Accidental Genealogist (47728977)
