Description	:	Wife of Philander Overman married 24 January 1856 Wapello county, IA. Daughter of Benjamin and Eva Young early settlers of Wapello County. Tradition has it that there was a trap door in their house (816 Albia Road, Old Port Richmond, Wapello county, IA) used as an entrance to the underground railroad station. Mary's husband's brother, John Overman, owned a ferry and there was a hollow space under where the horse stood on the ferry that was used to hid fleeing slaves.
