Description	:	Mason Lee Grogg, 72, of Wiley Ford, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at the WMHS Memorial Campus Hospital. Born Dec. 11, 1933, in Pinto, Md., he was the son of the late Basil Lee Grogg and Lillie Louise (Helmick) Grogg. Mr. Grogg was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Grogg. Born Dec. 11, 1933, in Pinto, Md., he was the son of the late Basil Lee Grogg and Lillie Louise (Helmick) Grogg. Mr. Grogg was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Grogg. A United States Air Force veteran, Mason retired from Pittsburgh Plate and Glass. He was a member of the Wiley Ford Church of the Brethren. Mason was chief of the Wiley Ford Volunteer Fire Department with 29 years of service. He was a 52-year member of the Wiley Ford Volunteer Fire Department having served on the Board of Governors and as past treasurer. Mason was a member of the Mineral County Chiefs Association and the Mineral County 911 Association. Mason was current president of the Mineral County Fireman's Association, the current representative for the West Virginia Fireman's Convention and currently served on the Mineral County Republication Central Committee. Mason is survived by his wife of 52 years, Shelby J. (Keplinger) Grogg; his sons, Jeffrey M. Grogg, Cumberland, and Stephen L. Grogg and his wife Margie, Carpendale; his sisters, Kathleen Arnold and Eva Ryan, both of Hagerstown, Shirley Mc-Daniel and her husband Lester, Manassas, Va., and Sharon Klosterman, Littlestown, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Shirley E. Grogg, Cumberland; and his grandchildren, HM2 Sara A. Grogg, serving in the United States Navy, Bethesda, Andrew M. Grogg, Cumberland, Kristin A. Grogg and Matthew S. Grogg, both of Carpendale. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Wed-nesday, Sept. 6, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The fireman will hold a memorial service on Thursday at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Benny Brakeall and the Rev. Paul Dietz officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Larry Hinkle, Dave Malone, Terry Malone, Sean Malone, Terry Ashenfelter, Sam Harmon, Paul Defibaugh and Robert Holler. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Wiley Ford Volunteer Fire Department. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
