Description	:	Mason Lee Sweasey was born in McDonough county, Blandensville, Illinois, August 26, 1866 and passed way at his home in Milford, Nebr., November 26, 1936. The first four years of his life were spent on a farm near Blandensville and then with his folks he moved to a farm near Milford, Nebr. where his father died two years later. Read More	Mason Lee Sweasey was born in McDonough county, Blandensville, Illinois, August 26, 1866 and passed way at his home in Milford, Nebr., November 26, 1936. The first four years of his life were spent on a farm near Blandensville and then with his folks he moved to a farm near Milford, Nebr. where his father died two years later. On March 21, 1893 he was married to Miss Lucy Pleines of Ruby, Nebr. They lived on a farm near Milford for about eight years. In 1901 they moved to town where he was engaged in the livery business, which he followed for about eighteen years, after which he worked at the painter's trade. He was prominent in the business life of the community, an honor member of the Milford Fire Department. He wasPast Grand of the I.O.O.F., of which he was a member for 35 years. He was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. He was an attendant of the Methodist church since early boyhood. Two infant sisters preceded him in death, also his wife Lucy who passed away a year ago. He leaves to mourn his loss two brothers, James Riley Sweasey of Seward and Thomas Stewart Sweasey of Milford, Nebr., and an uncle, Andy Keithley of Milford, Nebr., 15 nephews and 31 nieces and a host of friends and other relatives. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon and conducted by the Rev. William R. Velte, pastor of the Meth. Episcopal church of Milford, Nebr. A large concourse of people had gathered in the Methodist church and every available place was used to accommodate the host of freinds who came from far and near to pay their last respects to the departed one. A quartet consisting of Mr. Silas Rumler, Mr. Clarence Cox, Andrew Anderson and Mr. Alvin Anderson with Mrs. Ralph Rodgers, pianist, supplemented the service with three numbers, very ably and beautifully rendered. The flower girls were sisters of the Rebekah Lodge. The pallbearers were Paul Swearingen, F. W. Petsch, R. B. Silver, Al Weaver, Pete Rediger, Frank Ficke.
